Read: John 21:1-14
What Jesus says, happens. He told His disciples that He would meet them in Galilee. And He does. The Sea of Tiberias is another name for the Sea of Galilee. But how would the disciples know for sure who their Lord and Savior was? They didn’t know how they’d know. They simply had to trust in the words of Jesus. So what do fishermen do when they have taken a three year break to follow a leader who has since died and supposedly risen again? They go fishing. That is exactly what the disciples do. However, apparently they have lost their touch, because they did not catch a single fish.
Suddenly, a man appears and says: “hey guys, got anything?” To which, the disciples have to awkwardly say “no.” So this man tells them to cast their nets on the other side. They catch so much fish, they don’t know what to do. That was their sign. That was the miracle that Jesus did to show them who He really was. It was a miracle proving once again, that He was the Son of God. Now that they have fish, they are able to eat breakfast together. Such a human act proves to the disciples once again, that He was the Son of Man.
Just as the disciples trusted in the word of Jesus, and Jesus appeared; we do the same. We trust that the Word of God, that we find in the Bible, does not come back void. Rather, God’s Word, Jesus’s words, come back to us with the fullness of beauty, joy, and peace. We can ask ourselves, like the disciples did, who Jesus is. However, just like the disciples, we know that when we hear the words of the Bible, we know that it is the LORD’s words. We don’t have to wait for Jesus to come to us. We just have to open the Bible. We have been truly blessed.
Please Pray: Dear Jesus, thank you for appearing to Your disciples so many years ago. Thank you also for not leaving us with You or Your Word. Give us the desire to open up your Bible everyday so that our relationship with you can grow and grow. When we cast our nets into water that is focused on ourselves, gently remind us where we should be casting our nets - into the abundance of Your Word. Amen.

Lo que dice Jesús, pasa. Él dijo a Sus discípulos que les conociera en Galilea. Y lo hace. El mar de Tiberias es otro nombre para el mar de Galilea. Pero como sabrían los discípulos por seguro quién era su SEÑOR y Salvador? No sabían como sabrían. Sólo tenían que confiar en las palabras dichas por Jesús. Así que hacen los pescadores cuando no han pescado por tres años por seguir su líder quien ha muerto y supuestamente ha resucitado otra vez? Pescan. Es exactamente lo que hacen. Sin embargo, al parecer, no son tan buenos nada más porque no atraparon ni un pescado.
De repente, un hombre aparece y dice: “hola amigos, tienen algo?” A lo que los discípulos tienen que decir con torpeza: “no.” Así este hombre les dice que echen la red al otro lado. Atrapan tanto pescado que no sabían qué hacer. Fue su señal. Fue el milagro que Jesús hizo para mostrarles quien era acutalmente. Fue un milagro que prueba otra vez, que era el Hijo de Dios. Ahora que tienen el pescado, desayunan junto. Este hecho humano les prueba a los discípulos otra vez que Él era el Hijo de Hombre.
Como confían los discípulos en la palabra de Jesús y apreció, hacemos lo mismo. Confiamos que la Palabra de Dios, la que encontramos en la Biblia, no volverá vacía. En vez, la Palabra de Dios, las palabras de Jesús, volverán con la plenitud de belleza, gozo, y paz. Podemos preguntarnos, como los discípulos, quien es Jesús. Sin embargo, como los discípulos, sabemos que cuando oímos las palabras de la Biblia, sabemos que son las palabras de Dios. No tenemos que esperar a Jesús que nos venga. Sólo tenemos que abrir nuestra Biblia. Sí, estamos bien bienaventurados.
Favor de orar: Querido Jesús, gracias por aparecer a Tus discípulos hace tantos años. Gracias por no dejarnos sin Ti o Tu Palabra. Danos el deseo para abrir Tu Biblia todos los días para que nuestra relación contigo pueda crecer y crecer. Cuando echamos nuestras redes por agua en el cual nos está enfocado, favor de recordarnos dónde debemos echar nuestras redes - en la abundancia de Tu Palabra. Amén.
